New price forward curves for CSEE
In the emerging countries of South-Eastern Europe, electricity supply is mainly based on conventional power plants (especially lignite). The region offers good prospects for renewable energy, but needs to do more to improve electricity grids, integration of the national energy markets and transparency of prices in order to tap this potential.
The awakening is not least reflected in the growing number of futures for Sout Eas European marktes at the POWER EXCHANGE CENTRAL EUROPE (EEX-PXE) as well as the increasing trading volumes of these contracts.

POWER-EEX-BULGARIAN-HPFC
- The HPFC EEX BG is a forward curve in hourly resolution based on the current settlement prices for Bulgarian Power Futures of the EEX-PXE (futures launched on 24 June 2019).
POWER-EEX-CROATIAN-HPFC
- The HPFC EEX HR is a forward curve in hourly resolution based on current settlement prices for the just launched Croatian Power Futures of the EEX-PXE (futures launched on 26 June 2023).
POWER-EEX-SERBIAN-HPFC
- The HPFC EEX RS is a forward curve in hourly resolution based on current settlement prices for Serbian Power Futures of the EEX-PXE (futures launched on 24 June 2019).
POWER-EEX-SLOVENIAN-HPFC
- The HPFC EEX SI is a forward curve in hourly resolution based on current settlement prices for Slovenian Power Futures of the EEX-PXE (futures were introduced on 24 June 2019).
